About Us

Our mission at Life's a Trip, is to help people keep the Joy of Living ALIVE. We do this through the wide variety of services we provide, and are especially delighted to provide service for seniors and for people who have special needs.

All of our services have been developed with a high degree of integrity and offer our customers real value for their money. All of our staff are committed to providing our services with respect, compassion and enthusiasm.

Integrity means that we are who we say we are, and the information we give to you is accurate and thorough, not just words or remarks that just "sound good". Integrity means that we show up when we say we will show up, and that our reports are well developed and completed when we say they will be completed.

Respect is our appreciation for all the differences between individuals and families. We respect everyone's right to make their own decisions and don't attempt to influence people or families in terms of our perceptions. We offer you objective information and will cater to your wishes.

Compassion and enthusiasm are what our staff is all about. The basis for our services revolve around providing people with the assistance they need in order to continue to enjoy travel and recreation experiences, hence enthusiasm is one of the key qualities we look for in our staff. Compassion is one of the other qualities we insist on in our employees. Not every human being has developed the capacity to care about others, or the ability to touch people's lives in meaningful ways, but all of our staff have these abilities.

Life really is a trip and we only hire people who are themselves, trying to make their earthly journey, the best it can be. We hire our people on a part time basis because we want them to enjoy and appreciate the opportunities they will encounter with our customers. Our employees are well compensated, both monetarily and otherwise, for the services they provide. We want our staff to remain healthy, vibrant and enthusiastic about the services they offer.

Life's a Trip is orchestrated by it's founder, Rhonda Skiba. Rhonda has a work and educational history that is as colorful as any Monet. She has a B.A. in Psychology with an interest in developmental psych, (including the developmental processes involved with aging). She also has an education in Human Resources and certification in Health and Safety. She worked with people with disabilities for approximately 8 years and during this time, had the opportunity to accompany many individuals on a variety of travel and recreational experiences (to places such as Daytona Beach Fl, Manhattan NY and Toronto, to baseball games, political rallies, museums, and site seeing tours to name just some of the opportunities). She understands the difficulties people sometimes face during travel and recreation, and has learned how to adapt to situations and modify certain environments in order to accommodate the people.

In addition to working with people who have disabilities, Rhonda has also worked in the social service field providing assistance to women in need. She is very open-minded and sensitive to the needs of others and is dedicated to serving the community. She co-founded a baseball league for people with disabilities and also founded and facilitated a women's group in one of our local communities. Rhonda has done many things and been many places and "Life's a Trip! is one of her favorite sayings, hence the company name. Read what others have to say about Rhonda
